About Freelance Photographer Manas Ranjan Varma

Hello,

 

I am Manas Ranjan, a photographer from Bettiah (Bihar) and I am currently living in Delhi.

 

Academically, I was a Biology student who found his calm in the various photography exhibitions and discussions. It was always photographs that occupied my thoughts, rather than my subjects.

 On one of my birthday and a gift from my mother that changed my life- a camera - Sony HX 300. I was ecstatic and was keen to use it. In no time, I started clicking pictures in auto mode, without knowing that there was something very different going to happen in my life. 

Seeing me so engaged with photographs, one day, my elder brother said to me - “Whatever you have clicked till now, let’s get it printed”. I was excited to see the prints of the images that I had clicked. When the prints came, it came with something else too - an unforeseen and hard to refuse an offer from my elder brother’s side. The offer was to join Raghu Rai Center For Photography - India’s premier photography institute.

It is a renowned name in the field of photography and as the name suggests, it is established by Raghu Rai Sir. He is India’s foremost celebrated photographer. The institute is mentored by  Raghu Rai Sir himself along with his son Nitin Rai Sir, another well-known name in the field of photography and art circles.

 

I started my journey with the lens in the year 2014, completed my ‘Beginners Photography Course’ in 2015 from Raghu Rai Center For Photography. In the year 2017, I completed my ‘Diploma Program in Creative Photography’ from Raghu Rai Center for Photography.

 

After completing my Diploma program from Raghu Rai Centre for Photography, I got an opportunity to exhibit my work in an exhibition held at AIFACS, New Delhi between September 8-14, 2017.
 

The experience has been amazing since then as a freelance photographer. Currently I am working as a faculty of photography at G. D. Goenka Public School, Sarita Vihar, Delhi. 
 
I worked as an official photographer for the International Buddhist Council (I.B.C.) in December 2017. I worked with Zomato as a Food Photographer in Delhi NCR. I also worked as a team member at Raghu Rai Center for Photography form feb. 2018 to april 2022. 
I have also done Corporate Portrait, Event photography, Decor photography, Pre-wedding, Product photography and Commercial video shoots for Doctors of Delhi and NCR. Apart from this I do Landscape photography, Documentary photography and Travel photography and Video making. 

 

As a photographer, I love to tell stories that are always there but rarely recognized.
